1. Indole-5-carboxaldehyde is used as a reactant in the preparation of curcumin derivatives, which function as anti-proliferative and anti-inflammatory agents.
2. Indole-5-carboxaldehyde serves as a reactant in the structure-based drug design of aurora kinase A inhibitors.
3. Indole-5-carboxaldehyde is also employed in the stereoselective synthesis of dibenzylideneacetone derivatives as β-amyloid imaging probes.
